Since 2020, Byounique Trust runs a vocational training centre in Zomba. We train youth in Tailoring & Design, Hairdressing, ICT, Webdesign, Phone & Home Appliances Repair, Laptop Repair and Solar & Renewable Energy. We also train the youth in Entrepreuneurship and Life Skills, and mentor them to set up individual or group businesses or to find employment. Annually, we train about 200 youth. 

Our vocational training centre targets those youths who have a strong motivation to learn a practical skill, but lack the financial means, or the high qualifications to access formal vocational trainings. Our fees are fair and our trainings are hands-on, so our youths gain all the practical techniques to implement the skill directly after graduation. 

Our trainings also give school children and families the opportunity to access haircuts, school uniforms and other clothing at a fair price. Many come by during training hours for a shave, washing hair, plaiting hair braids or for buying clothes made by our students. We are very happy that more and more people find our school. It is the best way for our students to learn directly in practice and by doing so, to give something back to their community.
